Change of Details
We appreciate that any change of caregiver, address, telephone and mobile number or email contacts be updated with the College as soon as possible. In the event of urgent contact being needed to be made with home we need all your contact details. The school commu- nicates widely with its community and will give regular updates by email as well as through memos, the newsletter, our school website and Facebook page. This is why accurate details are so important.
Subject Contributions
Some courses have a subject contribution request that allows additional learning activities to take place in the school. In most cases these contributions cover take-home resources that bene t your student’s learning in that course, or cover the cost of transport and accommo- dation for eld trips that add depth to the curriculum. Assistance with these fees can some- times be given and we work hard to ensure that no students miss out through not being able to make a subject contribution.
At the start of the year students are issued with a list of stationery requirements and other costs for each learning area. Stationery may be purchased at the appropriate retail rm. Local rms have copies of the school stationery lists. Noel Leeming also o er discounted devices like iPads as well as layby options which may be of assistance to students who would like to be in a BYOD class or use a device to support their learning.
School Donation
Your school donation, which quali es for a tax rebate, covers a variety of activities and is used to enhance the educational opportunities for students of Tauhara College. It covers sports equipment, library resources, cultural activities, and helps subsidise various student services and facilities. There is a discount if the donation is paid before the end of Term 1. The donation is: $100 for the rst child in a family
$80 for the second child and $70 for subsequent children
Following Term 1 the donation is:
$120 for the rst child in a family
$100 for the second child and $80 for subsequent children
While the donation is of course optional, as a school we greatly appreciate families making this contribution. All the money raised through school donations is invested directly into ac- tivities or resources that support student welfare and learning opportunities. Thank you for considering making this investment.
Medical Information
We appreciate being informed of any medical needs your student may have. Please ensure you have completed the medical information sheet when you enrol your student. In the event that it is needed, suitably trained sta administer rst aid and prescribed medication. The college stocks a rst aid kit for emergencies only. A quali ed nurse visits the school for student appointments twice weekly. A doctor also visits our Health Centre once a week and free consultations can be made. A physiotherapist also o ers twice weekly appointments for a minimal fee. Appointments can be made through the school o ce.
Outside Appointments
Parents are asked to avoid making appointments for their children during school hours. We appreciate that at times this is unavoidable but it is important that students miss as few learning opportunities as possible. In the event that a student has to attend an appointment during the school day, they should present a note or appointment card to the College O ce at the start of the school day. Students should then sign out when they leave school to at- tend the appointment, and sign back in when they return.
