Stay on Brand: Invite people in, but be smart about each post. Try to stay on brand and think about what your brand truly represents. If you don’t want to post static images of things that are not related to makeup on your feed, you can use stories or reels to show more of yourself.
Share Images that Connect: Post high-quality images and raw images (relatable). Posting high quality pictures shows that you can produce amazing images, but you alsowant to make it apparent that you’re using raw images directly from your phone as well. This is because it will make your content more relatable. That being said, pay attention to how you take the photos on your phone (don’t post sloppy images).
More than Eye Candy: Have meaningful messages and think about your captions. Writing something meaningful encourages your followers to respond and start conversations with you.Hashtags: Always use hashtags on your posts. Use the lucky number 11 for this.
Use CTAs: Using calls to action to lead your viewer to another page (your website) is a great way to grow your business and email list.
Have a point of view: While there are many ‘beauty gurus’ on Instagram already, there is always room for more people! Think about your point of view and what makes YOU different. While you want to create beautiful content, you also want to allow your followers to get to know you. Talk about things that matter to you that are outside of makeup.
Space out your work: Include different types of images on your feed. For example, spread out fashion posts with bridal clients, and images of yourself. Diversifying your content will make you look more like an expert.
Batchwork: Take several photos in one day to avoid feeling burnt out. If you did your makeup one day for Instagram, change your outfit and your lip or hairstyle to create more than one photo and save time (aka batchworking).
When to post: Think about who your audience is. Check your demographics in Instagram and look at when your followers are most often online. For example, if most of your followers are young adults and work during the day, post before 9am or after 5pm. Do a quick google search to see what the best time is to reach people. Lastly, look at when other successful people are doing launches, hosting giveaways, etc.
  MASTER YOUR INSTAGRAM BIO
When someone clicks your page, they have about 10 seconds to decide if they like you or not. You want to brag here about some of the highlights of yourself or your career. Make sure to add in exactly what you do, so people aren't guessing. Optimize hashtags so you get more changes to been searched. Don't forget to add links in your bio to a 'call to action',
as well as your location so people know where you are from.
HOW TO MOVE THE NEEDLE
Always engage/DM: build a relationship with your followers or clients. They value your feedback. Also, when you respond to people via DM, they will see your content more often.
HAVE A PLAN!
When you are posting, try to have a plan. Think about your theme, and your photos, before you post to remain consistent. Try to stick to the same light source and maintain clean and consistent backgrounds as well. Create a colour scheme, so your feed flows. Consider your background. Is there clutter in the picture? Move the clutter or relocate to another area. Put an extra few minutes into every photo; it could make your feed that much more kick-a$$.
