QUESTIONS TO ASK YOUR CLIENT
What type of skin do you have?
What kind of products and brands do you
normally use?
This gives a good indication of what types of products they like. If someone has sensitive skin, they are likely using something that’s all natural and without scents.
What kind of foundation do you like to use?
If it’s something that’s full coverage, then that gives you a good idea of what will work on their skin (and what makeup style they like).
Are you aware of any allergies, or have you ever had a reaction to products?
Important: Some clients may have an allergy to latex, which is what eyelash glue is made out of (and some sponges), so make sure to ask about this every single time.
THINGS TO LOOK OUT FOR:
Pore size: Usually the more oily the skin, the bigger the pores, and the smaller the pores, the dryer the skin.
Redness: You may need to colour correct, and this is an indication of sensitive skin.
Dry patches: You may need to use more moisturizer on that area.
Oily t-zone: This is an indication of combination skin.
Premature wrinkles: Be aware of wrinkles and not to apply too much powder or highlighter on these areas.
