Clean the brow area with an oil-free cleanser or makeup remover to ensure that there is no product in the eyebrows.
There are a variety of products that you can use to “block” brows, but the most common (and affordable) option is Elmer's Glue. In order for this to work properly, make sure that you purchase the clear drying kind. To start the process, apply the glue through the brows against the natural direction of the hairs. You want to make sure that you are getting into all of the brow area. Once the brows are thoroughly coated in glue, apply the glue again, but this time go in the opposite direction.
Take a clean mascara spoolie and brush the hairs directly upward until they are smooth against the surface of the face. Once all of the hairs are in an upward direction, you can use your finger to smooth them down onto the face. If there are stray hairs sticking out, go back through and add another layer of glue to seal the remaining strands.
Apply a loose translucent powder onto the brow hair with a powder puff. Press this in to ensure that it’s locking the brow hairs into place.
Once the brows are sealed down and completely set (meaning there is no exposed sticky glue), you can then colour correct the brow area.
You will need to colour correct before covering the brows. If you skip this step, you will see a grey undertone under your makeup application. Use an orange or red colour corrector or concealer to apply throughout the brows. You will want to be very careful that you are not lifting up any product. To apply the corrector, move in upward motions. You can use a beauty sponge or a concealer brush.
Once the brow hair is fully colour corrected, you can go back into the translucent setting powder. Because you must use a cream colour corrector, you will have to set this so that the product doesn’t move around. If you feel like your colour corrector isn’t effective enough, you can set the brow in between layers and keep applying until the brows are no longer visible. Apply the powder again with a powder puff (a powder puff is good because it doesn’t move any product around). Lightly dust away as you go.
This process can sometimes take time, but you want to make sure that the brows are super flat and covered perfectly before moving on. Finally, you can cover the brows with a super powerful foundation or concealer. The Makeup Forever HD Stick Foundation is a great full coverage product for this as it is also hydrating. Run this through the brow hairs pushing upwards and lightly working it in with a beauty sponge. You don’t want to use a brush for this part because it will quickly pick up the product.
