ARCHITECTURAL DRIVING TOUR
FEATURING WORK DESIGNED BY FRANK LLOYD WRIGHT AND OTHER TALIESIN ARCHITECTS
The Spring Green area is a treasure trove of architecture designed and in uenced by Frank Lloyd Wright. Besides the buildings designed by Wright himself, the River Valley area features many structures by Wright’s apprentices.
1. *Frank Lloyd Wright Visitor Center (Frank Lloyd Wright, 1953): Includes the Riverview Terrace Café Restaurant and Taliesin Gift Shop. All tours of Taliesin begin here. taliesinpreservation.org
2. Unity Chapel (J.L. Silsbee, 1886): The Lloyd Jones family chapel. Silsbee’s apprentice, Frank Lloyd Wright, did the interior delineations.
3. Aldebaran Farm was the ancestral home of Wright’s Uncle James, later modi ed by William Wesley Peters. Call (773) 334-4924 for lodging reservations. http://www.aldebaranfarm.us/welcome
4. Wintergreen (Paul Wagner, with the original concept developed by William Wesley Peters, 1989): A conference center with majestic 360-degree views on a hilltop.

5. *Wyoming Valley School Cultural Arts Center (Frank Lloyd Wright, 1956): This two-room public elementary school was in large part donated by Wright as a memorial to his mother.
6. *Scenic Overlook Pedestrian Bridge (James Charles Montooth, 1992):
A bridge over Highway 23, it offers a great view of the House on the Rock’s In nity Room.
7. *The House on the Rock Resort (James Charles Montooth, 1989 with addition, E. Thomas Casey, 1992): Hotel and resort.
8. *Spring Valley Inn (Joseph Fabris, 1988): Reception area, bar and inn.
9. *St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church (William Wesley Peters, 1989): The church features an 8” x 18” leaded glass altar windows designed by Susan Jacobs Lockhart.
10. Private Residence (William Wesley Peters, 1975): Originally a drive-up bank facility, it is now a private residence.
11. *BMO Harris Bank (William Wesley Peters, 1970).
12. *Spring Green Community Library (James Charles Montooth).
13. Private Residence Originally a medical facility (William Wesley Peters).
14. *Riteway Plaza (James Charles Montooth, 1995): Originally a Phillips station, limestone overhangs glass windows on the inside.
15. *Round Barn Lodge (Jim Pfefferkorn, 1973 & 1979). 16. Seth Peterson Cottage (Frank Lloyd Wright, 1958):
In Mirror Lake, WI, it is Wright’s smallest design at
