AMERICAN PLAYERS THEATRE
American Players Theatre, known affectionately to the audience
as APT, has been producing world- class theater in the woods for more than 40 years. One of the country’s premier classical festival theaters, APT is located on 110 acres of woods and prairie just south of Spring Green. The agship, outdoor Hill Theatre
is nestled in a natural acoustical bowl, and offers 1088 comfortably appointed seats under the sky and stars, while the 201-seat Touchstone Theatre provides an intimate, indoor experience, and more contemporary plays that t beneath the umbrella of APT’s mission.
In a typical year, more than 100,000 people visit the grounds, often sharing picnics with friends and family before or after the performance. Gas grills
are provided in the picnic area, as well as hiking trails for those who want to take in some nature. Special events are also available on select days, including live music, talks with actors and artists and tours of the grounds.
