MINDSET
EXERCISE YOUR MIND: It’s simple to take a lesson from a positive result. But can you do the same with a negative experience? Think back on a time you faced adversity or failure. What now can you say you learned from that? Is there any moment that you repeatedly go back to and say “If I could overcome that, I can overcome this?” Remember growing pains aren’t ideal, but they are necessary. Do you practice visualization? Take time, the night before a game, or pre-game and think about your game plan. Picture your opponent and understand your goals, but keep your approach simple. Overthinking in baseball is your biggest enemy. As my wife would always say “Try to just go out and PLAY. Try and remember to have fun.” Baseball is a stressful game, and it’s easy to lose sight of why you started playing in the first place. You got this!
