SUPPORT SYSTEM
My kids, they are unconditional love as well. They don't care if I have a bad game or bad week. There was nothing better than my kids running down the tunnel to greet me after a game. It made every bit of emotion from the game melt away.
My high school buddies, my ride or die boys. They have traveled miles and miles to support my career, and never asked for anything in return. Find yourself some friends who will listen to your struggles and your successes, and who will always treat you like the guy they met in high school, who was clueless about what the future held. Finally, if it wasn't for the support of the
mentors, psychologists, nutritionists, and coaches I would not be the man I am today. You cannot put a price on having someone to talk to that you trust.
If you have a strong support system, always remember that it is worth its weight in gold. Those people will be your rock during this journey and their support will help you thrive. If you don’t have a strong support system, that’s ok too, we can fix that. Be open to letting people in emotionally. Find a school counselor, a sports psychologist, trusted friend or family member, or someone with similar interests. One of the main reasons I decided to start Fully Equipped Athlete was to help young athletes on their journey in the same way that I relied on mentors and friends on my way to the major leagues. Having the support and understanding of someone who has "been there", makes it easier to relate. You may be experiencing a problem or feel like there is something that you don't know where to turn to for advice. That's where I come in.
