 FUNCTIONAL TRAINING
ON FIELD BATTING PRACTICE
The first round is all situational hitting. (hit and run, move the runner, infield in, infield back) Round two, I focus on letting the ball get deep and hitting it hard to the opposite field. Round three, hit it hard up the middle.
Round four, hit it hard pull side.
Round five, hit it where it’s pitched.
To finish off this section of functional training, a little secret for a great way to start your day. Wake up and take an ice cold shower for a couple minutes. It's just as good as a cup of coffee, maybe better because you're instantly awake, and science backs this theory. Then crush 16 oz. of room temperature water mixed with himalayan salt and lemon (if possible). This will hydrate you, fire up your metabolism, get your body the electrolytes it needs, and flush out toxins.
NOW YOU ARE EQUIPPED WITH WHAT IT TAKES TO TRAIN HARD, BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY TRAIN SMART. IMPLEMENT THESE PRACTICES INTO YOUR LIFE AND NOT ONLY WILL YOUR BODY THANK YOU, BUT THE RESULTS WILL SPEAK FOR THEMSELVES.

Implement mobility into your daily routine, and check out my videos for ideas on proper warm-ups. Also start keeping a journal of your FUNCTIONAL workouts. Be sure to write down how you felt after.
