   HOW WE WORK
Aidlink works with local partners to support communities in Kenya and Uganda, with a focus on gender equality, education, and sustainable livelihoods. Aidlink empowers communities to take greater control over their lives and livelihoods. Our teams are on the ground, supporting the world’s poorest people and increasing the resilience of the marginalised.
Aidlink works collaboratively, both at home and abroad, to ensure lasting change for the people that we serve. We believe in grassroots solutions.
We partner with Civil Society Organisations in our programme countries to improve
the lives of girls and their families. Through our work with local groups, we harness
local knowledge and resources to support communities and encourage local ownership over projects to guarantee sustainability. Together we ensure communities are heard and that solutions support families to take greater control over their lives.
• We support gender equality by improving access to education for girls, and by strengthening health and human rights education among civil society groups.
• We support livelihoods by providing communities with the resources, skills, and knowledge that they need to thrive.
• We support families during an emergency by delivering life-saving protective equipment, food and water and through providing access to information.
For almost 40 years, Aidlink has worked through partnership, forging relationships with local organisations and building their capacity to become development leaders.
While we did not have active projects with all partners this year, Aidlink maintained engagement with all longstanding partners including Caritas MADDO, Caritas Lodwar and The Congregation of the Holy Spirit Ghana. Frequent communication helped
in monitoring the wider impact of Covid-19 locally.
