  04 Annual Report 2023
FROM THE
2023 has been marked by significant milestones and challenges, all of which have underscored our commitment to providing quality homes and building supportive communities.
CHIEF EXECUTIVE
We were delighted to welcome Minister Darragh O’Brien to officially open the scheme of 28 new homes in Miller’s Glen, Swords. Having already had a presence in the area since 2005, this brought the total Iveagh Trust community there to 151 homes. These are now part of a vibrant neighbourhood, supported by our dedicated on-site team, led by Peter Fenlon, who provide services all year long, to ensure that our residents receive continuous support and that our estates are well-maintained and welcoming.
However, the year also tested our resilience: in April, our Kevin Street estate faced a major crisis when a fire broke out in a flat on the top floor of Block E. I am immensely proud of how our staff from Kevin Street and others from across the Trust worked together, working long hours to organise alternative housing for all the impacted residents, and ensuring that all their needs were met during this difficult time. It was a remarkable coming together of residents and staff in the immediate aftermath of the event to show solidarity and the real spirit of the Iveagh Trust
in a crisis. Thanks are also due to Dublin City Council and to other housing associations in the area who came forward with offers of help and accommodation.
Throughout these events, the spirit of the
Iveagh Trust has shone brightly. While the
Trust continues to expand, we bear in mind our commitment to the communities we serve and the purpose of the work we do. We remind ourselves of our ethos: caring, courteous, professional, helpful and focused on community. We are more committed than ever to continue our mission
and to maintain and develop secure, stable, vibrant communities for all of our residents – present and future.
      AIDAN CULHANE, CHIEF EXECUTIVE
2023 has been
a year of both achievement and resilience for the Iveagh Trust.
