Minty, Inflammatory Eye
– Cured Lanthanide case By Henry Stephenson, Australia
Minty was presented in April 2010 as a de-sexed female, 10 year old Golden Retriever with an inflamed left eye.
There appeared to be some inflammatory tis- sue growing in the anterior chamber with some hypopyon also visible.
Mentals
Apart from the eye she was very excited and happy at this visit. This started when her friend, the dog next door, died recently. She is an excitable type of dog, who will get very nervous quickly here, when I examine her. She is very fearful in thunderstorms as well. She is skittish with noises of any sort and startles easily. She will even be fearful of shadows and is looking about all the time on a walk. She loves kids and company yet is also timid. She will want to jump up on the owners lap in the consulting room. She will join in and bark, if neighbouring dogs

bark. She seems very attached and dependent on her male dog companion. She is a follower. She hates to be left at home yet will get nervous before car rides. She will catch rats as fast as lightning.
Other Physicals
She will vomit after drinking, if she has too much. Her coat is very soft to touch. Her anal area gets itchy after a stool. She has had frothy diarrhoea on occasion with rumbling in abdomen. Previous history was of a cruciate repair and some pancreatitis after that in the last year. With the pancreatitis she had some mucus eye discharge. She gets chilly in cold air.
When her mate died, she got very upset and got hotspots on the skin. Also it was after the death of her mate that she started getting some shifting joint troubles, which eventually ended up with the cruciate needing repair in 2009.
Previous Treatment
She has had quite a few doses of Phosphorus in different strengths and Sulphur for her skin and Dysentery co and Argentum nit over the years. She has shown a varying response to these medicines. She has also had an occa- sional vaccination. Her pancreatitis was treated successfully with Phosphorus and fluids. She did have the cruciate surgery and had conven- tional drugs with that.
April 2010, given eye drops made from Eyestream with some Euphrasia mother tinc- ture mixed in. Also, she was started on Phosphorus LM1 to take daily.
After one week the pupilary light reflex was sluggish and the lesion seemed perhaps more diffuse with less inflammation. I referred Minty to our local eye specialist and said to stop homeopathic treatment.
