We stopped the remedy after 5 days. That look has left his eye.
He no longer demands attention, barks at us or when Mary is on the phone. Although he is still lively and friendly, we don't have a problem. He hasn't had any more pain episodes.
Calc-p is obviously first remedy to think of in growth spurt and 'growing pains' – highly likely to be what Arthur was
suffering from. However its mental state is
dissatisfaction – the whining and restless
‘complaining’ is typical for the behaviour in the consultation room. Calc (family) phos (pay attention to me). The repertorisation is also very supportive of the prescription.

“Homeopathy: Alive and Kicking” Congress, 14-16 June
The 2019 BAHVS Congress was organized by Wendy Mc Grandles and the conference committee, at the Stirling Court Hotel on the campus of Stirling University, just outside the historic city of Stirling.
Wendy will be stepping down as BAHVS Treasurer, so it was especially fitting to have her last Congress as Treasurer in Scotland. We also were able to meet Wendy’s fabulous Office Manager, Laura Snowden. This was a beautiful choice of venue, with rugged scenery, and the Wallace Monument an easy walk away. The hotel was comfortable, with friendly and attentive staff, and delicious meals.
The AGM preceded the Congress, and Stuart will report all business in full in his minutes (see website – Member’s area). The spirit and practice of veterinary homeopathy is undaunted in the UK, 19 months after the absurd RCVS statement threatening practitioners utilizing CAM modalities. The BAHVS and CAM4Animals continue to work together to put forward our case with the RCVS. Ilse Pedler has edited a poetry collection, ‘Giving Voice’, exploring CAM and the human – animal bond. Contributions were from BAHVS vets and CAM supporters, including poetry professionals! Books are available for £10 as a fund raiser to help the cause. The 2020 Congress will be held from 8-11 October in conjunction with the Faculty at Bournemouth, so mark your calendars now! The 2021 Congress is likely to be at a lower cost venue in the North, with camping and shared accommodation options.
David Reilly opened the conference Friday afternoon by exploring “How Alive and Kicking Are You? Our Search for Healing, Wellness and Flourishing”. This was a fascinating examination of how our ego drives our assessment or ourselves and others. He discussed how we can access the state of mind that allows us to respond sensibly to situations, rather than reacting out of fear. We need to release our own ability to flourish through self-care, nurturing our own life, so we can live fully, and ‘die alive’.
Bob Leckridge followed with “Uniqueness”. We experience health as a personal experience balancing discipline and chaos; health is integrated and adaptable, allowing us to grow, develop, and mature. Separateness and belonging are both fundamental to life. The similimum lies between the patient – practitioner – relationship, and is best found by creating bonds of care, slowing down, avoiding judging, and shifting perception to experiences, events, and context. Bob shared his ‘special’ exercises: Live each day as if it is your first and your last, evaluate life in context, and slow down.
