While I was contracting, I bought a high-end mountain bike but was never home long enough to enjoy it. Now that I was home, I had the time and but lack the knowledge to work on my own bike. I reached out to shop owner where I purchased it (Shawn Brunner of Fresh Bikes) and asked him what the best way for me was to learn how to work on my bike. He proceeded to tell me by working at the shop with him and he would teach me everything I needed to know. I started working there part-time and was learning while also becoming a better rider. I was having fun pushing myself on the trail and meeting new people who just enjoyed riding their bikes. I quickly found the mountain bike community very much like my military community and I loved it. I was starting to feel good about myself and this what I needed.
