Born in Texas in 1972, Brian served as a journalist in the United States Navy on Active Duty from 1990 to 2000. He was deployed in the Navy Reserve to Chinhae, South Korea in 2001 and to International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) in Afghanistan in 2009.
