 to sleep, so there wasn’t anyone to engage in conversation. The cargo was palletized closer to the back of the plane and, for whatever reason, the load was shifting back and forth a short distance on the rails, creating the metal on metal noise, causing enough movement to make me think that, if I took my eyes off of it, I wouldn’t be ready to react and get out of its path, when or if it left the track it was in. Underfoot I could feel vibrations from other parts of the plane and the shifting palletized luggage and it all culminated in my inability to sleep.
