 THANK YOU
“Thank you consists of just eight letters that form two of the most meaningful words in the English vocabulary.” - Deborah Norville

To my unbelievably wonderful, committed and understanding husband Danny. Thank you for not only putting up with the countless hours I spent, day and night, working on this book, but also being there for me when I was deployed and gone on Active Duty throughout the years. We went through two deployments together and our marriage only became stronger because of it, despite the difficulties PTSD can bring to a marriage and a relationship. Thank you for your understanding, your encouragement, your comfort and your helping hand through it all. Thank you also for never questioning my loyalty to our relationship...something I never did from the very first day we said our vows, if not before. Most of all, thank you for always and unfailingly being there to hold my hand and being my friend. That’s how our relationship started, when you made me laugh...and that’s what you still try to make me do every single day. That warms my soul and makes it so much lighter to carry, even on darkest days and difficult nights. I love you with all my heart.
Thank you to my mother Elizabeth LaCava and my Grandmother Isolde Weaver for raising me...you are both more special to me than you could ever possibly know, in my dreams or visions; thank you to all of my family, including my father Loren Schmierer; my ‘first’ and second mother Paulette, for being there, whenever and wherever...no matter the circumstances,
