“Got PTSD or know someone with PTSD? I do too...it’s me. I’ve been dealing with it since 2010. Please take my hand, at least long enough to read this letter, if nothing else. I think you will find that together we can get through this and create a better tomorrow.” – Courtenay M. Nold
First things first. Please don’t put this book down because the ‘term’ PTSD (commonly called Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder) is used as part of the title. While I refer to PTSD in the title of this book with the ‘D’ at the end, it can and is referenced both as PTSD and PTS throughout the chapters within. No negative connotation is meant by referring to this as PTSD...only as a common vernacular used by the general public, and the community of Veterans especially, at large.
The book in your hands was born out of my personal frustrations about the lack of a single resource for military, Veterans and civilians confronted by issues centered on PTSD in all of its forms. Please don’t get me wrong...there’s plenty of information out there, but it’s very widely scattered and tends to be stove-piped like so much
