Moshe Feldenkrais D. Sc. (1904–1984), the creator of the Feldenkrais Method®, was a man who knew trauma. As a child, he survived pogroms (organized massacres of the Jewish population) in the Ukraine. He lived through two world wars. In 1940, he fled Paris only hours before the arrival of the Nazis and managed to escape on the last refugee ship to leave France for England. Many of his relatives were killed in the concentration camps. As a young man he lived in Palestine, where the threat of attack on Jews, who were not allowed to carry weapons, was so prevalent that he developed techniques to
