“I could float in the pool for hours, just letting the water carry me.” - Jill Scott
Courtenay: The closest thing I can think of to compare to floatation therapy is lap swimming, since I have not had the pleasure of doing floatation therapy yet.
I was a competitive swimmer when I was a child until I was a teenager...and also did some masters swimming for a short period of time.
One thing I recall when I was older was how relaxing it was to swim laps when there wasn't anyone else around and when there weren't time limits on my laps.
The silence in the pool, paired with the rhythmic sound of my swim strokes in the water was always very calming, on top of still being a great workout.
The closest thing I can relate it to other than the pool is when I was in the bathtub when I was little, with my ears submerged and eyes closed, just listening to the muted sounds below the water line.
I can only imagine how relaxing, floating and weightless, in total silence would be.
