“Our Veterans who fall on hard times and find themselves without a home deserve more than just handwringing or kind words. They deserve real help that gets them back on their feet.” - Michelle Obama
Courtenay: Unfortunately, it's the voice of a military member, young or old, that often goes unheard, lost in the shuffle of rocket attacks, daily tasks, leadership challenges and so much more...being pulled in all directions.
It may seem like a quiet voice in a large room...falling on crowded ears. It may be a loud voice where no one is listening, preferring to pass by the voice without a look, notice or care.
Sometimes it is especially hard to figure out what to say to a military member who is suffering from anxiety and depression. Often the only solution is them going home but that is not always possible due to different assignment requirements or needs.
Serving in a high-paced, high stress environment can actually feel comfortable, especially for someone with multiple deployments.
