Neuroscientists are increasingly finding impaired brain communication in patients with PTSD. In order for the brain to function efficiently, both sides of the brain need to be sending signals to each other. NeuView Glasses were designed for PTSD to direct light to the retina from the side, in addition to the front. Depending on which side of the glasses is activated, they stimulate increased neuronal activity in either the right or left side of the brain thereby increasing the communication pathways in the brain. The concept of 20/20 as an endpoint is slowly being left in the 20th Century as neuro- optometry evolves.
Acknowledgments
Courtenay Nold had a wonderful idea for creating an avenue for people with PTSD to have help in one location with her book. James Smyth has been a great help in making Mind-Eye testing become globally known. Also, thanks to Mike Maggio, Robert Wilson, Julie Smith and Matthew Kimball for their help with sentence structure, grammar and a military viewpoint.
I hope this information has piqued your curiosity about the role of optometry in treating PTSD.
