As a doctor of Chinese medicine, I have practiced among many different populations of people, from the very rich to the dispossessed. One of my favorite groups of people to work with are the Veterans of Foreign Wars that grace my clinic every few months or so. They are invariably a tremendously courageous group of people, and I admire them all. 

All practitioners of Chinese medicine have fought the battle of finding a rental office space that is affordable so as to make fees for service as low as possible. At long last, I’ve found my home in one of the poorest counties in Massachusetts, Franklin County. The rents are low, and the population warm, loving, friendly, enthusiastic, and, well, poor. Among them are many Veterans. They struggle with their memories of life overseas: where rules are different, and what happens there, stays there, and can’t be
