CHAPTER 20 - SIGN OF STRENGTH
Kimmy the Pitbull Terrier/Boxer Mix and Ziva the American Bully - Kimberly: I served as a 88M Truck Driver in the U.S. Army from June 2010 to October 2015 with individual assignments as follows: June 2010 to May 2011 (Fort Sill), May 2011 to June 2011 (Fort Leonard Wood), June 2011 to June 2013 (Fort Lewis), June 2013 to October 2015 (Fort Stewart). In that position I hauled troops, food and tanks. I didn't have any deployments because they yanked my deployment eligibility due to injuries I sustained.
If I were ever asked to go back into the military, I would do so in a heartbeat. I was happy when I was in the military...it's where I belonged. I'm a stronger person after having served and a better person for my family. Now I am awful angry because of me getting broken in the military and it was pretty much "you're broke, it's the end of your career." I miss taking care of my Soldiers and being able to lead my Soldiers. My oldest son is a Marine and my boyfriend is a former Airborne Soldier. He is now deployed as a contractor.
Unfortunately, there is bad with the good...being raped by two soldiers in my unit, brutally beaten in the head, and beating over a nine-month period and shot in the head by my husband. I was choked out to the point of unconsciousness. I also had an allergic reaction to medications that caused me to pass out and fall and my head apparently bounced six times on the concrete.
