can manage. When my equilibrium is off, I just put my hand on her back and she will just stay right there, helping to keep me stable.
I finally got this big 'slide' that goes over her military collar that has 'DO NOT PET' in huge white letters on a red background. I had Abby in the mall one day and we were sitting on a bench in the mall and just doing out own 'thing' and some lady came up to us and practically shoved her hand in Abby's face. Abby took that as a threat and kind of growled and showed her teeth, and the woman said, "Oh, it's okay...I saw the movie Max." And I am thinking, seriously...if you saw that movie why the hell would you stick your hand right in front of a Service Dog, and especially a Rottweiler, when she's on duty? You can't miss her vest...she's got the words Service Dog all over this thing. I was seriously thinking about getting that werewolf muzzle. I found one on Amazon that's got teeth showing and red streaks on it like blood. I just bet if I got something like that then people would just leave her alone. My wife keeps shutting me down on it...so it's a no-go. Have you ever seen those dog toys that look like real hands with an arm attached? I thought about getting one of those too but the wife also said that wasn't going to happen. They even have feet...and I could put one of those in an old tennis shoe and let her run around with that in her mouth. It would get my neighbor to leave me alone...at the least. Again...the wife...
As a volunteer, I do transport dogs and that helps me to chill out for a while. It usually takes three to four hours at a time to do each transport. I volunteer for Alone to Home, for I81 Transport, and for Otis's Sake...so I work with three groups and there are runs almost every day. It makes me feel good because I am helping to save dogs and, because of where I reside, I am in a good location, at a crossroads, to connect with other people who are also helping to transport the dogs. I would say I have transported between 35 and 40 dogs over the last year. There is one group I did a transport for that, the last group I did for them, they called it the lucky seven. I had seven puppies in my Jeep for that particular transport. It was interesting to say the least. The very last dog I did was a Blue Tick puppy. I was in love with that dog. She was a cutie...but she was already spoken for.
