In order to lay the foundation for any new approach that overcomes the limitations of conventional therapies, we need to examine ideas that form the very basis of our present thinking, ideas considered “common sense”. Such taken for granted, common sense ideas form the underpinning foundation of today’s therapeutic limitations. We need to look at diseases, and healing, freshly, from a new perspective of “uncommon sense”.
Consider the following comparison: Psychotherapy processes negative events through the application of dualistic and psychological knowledge which creates a story about what happened, thus reinforcing an identification as a helpless, weak, isolated, victimized, shamed individual, and ensuring the continuance of traumatic memories.
Psychotherapy also categorizes and labels the feelings the individual experiences as depression, anxiety, insomnia, etc. Even if the story is successfully changed, the success applies only to the mental or intellectual landscape, and the underlying feelings of the event remain, stored in the body and unconscious aspect of mind, ready to resurface when a “triggering” event occurs or during the night in the form of nightmares. In addition, conventional therapies attempt to treat the labels, i.e. depression, not the unique, actually experienced feelings of traumatizing events.
By contrast, Esoteric Wisdom TherapyTM processes the same events through non- dualistic, integrative wisdom. It restores identity and consciousness to its natural spirit of unity in which all Life abides as One. In this healed state of awareness there is no conflict, discord or suffering and the individual is liberated from the role of a shattered, weak tormented, hurt or angry victim.
