was learning while also becoming a better rider. I was having fun pushing myself on the trail and meeting new people who just enjoyed riding their bikes. I quickly found the mountain bike community very much like my military community and I loved it. I was starting to feel good about myself and this what I needed. I was feeling better at home, didn’t drink as much and felt very lucky every day and why not...I had a wonderful wife (Tamara), a great son (Colin), and new friends who liked riding.
We were all having the time of our lives in 2017. My wife and I sold our house, our son had graduated from college and was moving to New Zealand. Tamara and I were traveling the world making up for lost time from my former life. We traveled to Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, Italy, Greece, and even went back home to Texas for a few months to be with family. Now Tamara and I were ready to find a home and enjoy what
