Regardless of our ‘feelings’ about being transferred from 2/7—- Echo Company reported in to first Bn. Fourth Marines as assigned on 19 Nov. 1965 and thus became the new ‘A’ Company, First Bn., Fourth Marines! The old A Company reported into 2/7 and became the new E Company, 2/7. The Command Posts for
1/4 and A Company were located in the Chu Lai enclave. The new A Company commander was 1st. Lt. John Clancy—the previous XO of E Company—a familiar face. The Battalion Commander was Lt. Col. Perrich.
