Eventually, with the help of the Navy and amtraks we were able to move inland and carry out our mission of tying in to the rest of BLT 2/7 and setting up security. We moved inland to our assigned locations—each Company was assigned an area of responsibility as we ‘unpacked’ and began the process of becoming familiar with the Chu Lai area.
