At 16 I left school and took a job as a teaboy for the CEO of a big financial trading firm in the City. It was my job to run around, getting his coffees, teas and lunches. It might not
sound like an opportunity. But it was my route in.
After 6 months of me grovelling he finally gave me a shot on one of his FX trading desks. At 16/17 you have these wild dreams, then I thought it was to become the world’s best FX trader!

I met some incredible people and one person in particular had a vision to go off and set up an FX trading firm of his own. Not sure why, but he wanted me to come with him.
So, at the age of 17/18 I went off to set up a trading firm in a massive institution in the City. Now that was a learning curve. While I was focusing on scaling this company, meanwhile across town...
