Page 2 - Joel Embiid Development Plan
P. 2

  Introduction
Joel Embiid just had an MVP caliber season. He averaged 27.5 points, 13.6 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game during the 2018-2019 season. He ranked 4th in the league in points per game and 2nd in rebounds per game. He showed flashes of being unstoppable at times. A lot of people seem to forget but Joel Embiid has only played 3 NBA seasons. After a disappointing playoff exit in the Eastern Conference semifinals, it is time to get to work during this offseason and plan out his future development.
Even though Joel posted impressive numbers across the board, there are still a lot of areas of his game that can be improved. We will study the skills he excelled in and needs to keep sharpening, as well as where he struggled and why. We will take a deep dive into the film and the numbers, using Synergy and the NBA website mostly, to figure out what parts of his game need improvement and how they can be fixed. For each area of improvement, we will look for a solution and make Joel feel comfortable about them. In the last part, we will plan out exactly what it will look like on and off the court throughout the course of the year.
