guilty mode
What has made the European family of nations an improving, instead of a stationary portion of mankind? Not any superior excellence in them, which, when it exists, exists as the effect, not as the cause; but their remarkable diversity of character and culture. [John Stuart Mill, On Liberty III.18]
we are diverse in ourselves
and as such alike
it is the mode that makes us different
so searching every day
for our bouquets and flavors
reducing that inside into prime factors
tasting the hidden space
with blindfold eyes
wines from Vinopolis by the Thames
swirling each other like a glass gently but firmly
stirring and releasing the essence
perhaps we are as Glen Carlou Chardonnay from South Africa stream of lemon oak mint and vanilla
perhaps as the Spanish Moscatel Torres Floralis spicy with a hint of gingerbread and orange banana chocolate and black tea
or an Old Tawny Port
a twenty percent Portuguese Blend assorted nuts honey and figs
maybe we are the unknown undiscovered blend of flavors an as yet unnamed wine
