Soap in a Pandemic & Winter colds and flu looming.
 KC Darlin Programme Director Radiodowntown.ca
Clearing the air. Here are some things that may surprise us with the Fall and Winter cough and colds season potentially coming our way.
First of all it is rather a blessing in disguise that we all know generally after all the advertisements and suggestions for cleanliness in a Pandemic, how to prevent the spread of germs. Lets review them & spread the word to others in this busy world we live in! YES, again.
The spread of colds, coughs, and flu. (our topic here), is easily done via ourselves. Google says: *Viruses that cause colds can spread from infected people to others through the air and close personal contact. You can also get infected through contact with stool or respiratory secretions from an infected person.
We certainly have learned over the past year plus or minus some days maybe, that hand washing is the #1 way to prevent the deadly nature of contagious germs.
Why soap and water work better than hand sanitizer to remove the coronavirus:
Soap disrupts the sticky bond between pathogens and your skin, allowing the pathogens to slide right off. Not only are you neutralizing the virus with the soap, but you’re also physically knocking it off your hands. Hand sanitizer doesn’t do all of that! So, public health experts truly mean it when they tell you that washing your hands frequently for at least 20 seconds with soap and water will help prevent the spread of the coronavirus. It’s Science!
Thanks to uchearlth.org for the information here today.
Let us keep these things in mind as Summer Passes into Fall.
 Sincerely, KC Darlin @ RadioDowntown.ca
