  Singingina Natural Voice
The Cathedral Inside Your Mouth
by James Walsh
Your favorite singers out there sing in a Natural Voice. Their mom hears them on the radio and knows who it is instantly. They don’t strain to hit the notes or go from head to middle to chest voice, and you don’t have to strain either. Singing is as normal as talking. If you can talk you can sing, you just need to know how. And then add some tips and ideas and cool songs to your toolkit for singer songwriters.
Be The Note
Be the best version of You. And let loose with a song you love to sing that makes you smile. Know where you’re most comfortable and gradually expand into other areas at a pace that is fun for you. Imagine you are the note floating around inside your mouth. Close your eyes and assign a color to the note. See it float like a balloon and grow softer or louder and then try it out. Your Mouth is indeed like a Cathedral loaded with tools to help you make pleasing sounds.
Get inside the note ~ Carlos Santana. To that I add advice and say: Have fun with it.
Learn The Easy Way
Always warm up your voice with a few scales, and intervals and a familiar song you love. Einstein said there is a basic principal to learning that says this: “Mainly play the things on the piano which please you, even if the teacher does not assign those. That is the way to learn the most, that when you are doing something with such enjoyment that you don’t notice that the time passes. I am sometimes so wrapped up in my work that I forget about the noon meal. “ Since we know you create the reality and it adapts to your point of view, I hold his ideas to be true. But that does not mean you should ignore
your homework and not use the new info the teacher has given you. Music is your BFF and your lamplight into the future.
Positive Self Talk
Always tell yourself you can do something or that you will figure it out and do it eventually. Never say the words “I can’t.” Negative self-talk leads to negative self-image and this is counter-productive to being a great singer.
The Nine Steps
Nine is the highest number. After that things repeat just as a chorus is repeated in a song. The structure is something you have to learn. Once you can recall it you know it. There are no mistakes in western music and no notes to fear. Stage fright and other difficulties are not a fashion statement. They are things to be discarded for you to succeed. You don’t need them, your singing will garner you all the attention you need and in a way that feels great. The Nine Steps to success must be taken by you and every other Singer-Songwriter who loves music. They are: 1.Practice 2. Sing Daily 3.Study Theory 4.Perform in a Group 5.Perfom Solo 6. Learn an Instrument you like such as Guitar or Piano 7. Work Solidly 8. Understand the Music Business 9. Believe in Yourself. James Walsh - Bristol Kids Band
