Howdy folks... well this is our third issue of Radiodowntown.ca online magazine. I hope you have enjoyed the first two issues. This issue is very special for us in that on the cover as you noticed was Phil Hendriks of Les McKeown’s BAY CITY ROLLERS. What a pleasure to have him grace our cover on the March issue.
Both KC Darlin and myself had a great interview with Phil for over an hour. The interview was filled with, wonderment, laughter and good times, one of the most exciting interviews we have done to date. I encourage you to head to the podcast link on our web site and listen to the interview, I am sure you will enjoy it as much as we did.
Every day KC and I are getting Indie artists contacting us to be on the Perfect Note. We are so honoured to have them all.
It all started one night, KC and I were chatting and wanted to come up with a show that would help all those amazing artists out there while during this pandemic are unable to get out and play to get the recognition they so deserve.
So we put our heads together tossed around a few concepts of how the show would be run. So after that first hurdle, now we had to come up with a name for the show. We must have went through over 30 names and tag lines before we settled on “The Perfect Note” - “Raising the musical bar...”.
We both were excited about the new programme for the station. And so it came to be.
We have four basic questions we ask on our online form, that really tries to define the past, present and future so our listeners can find out more about the artists and their talents.
The artists send in 3-4 tunes, and agree to a Skype audio interview. The time is set between both parties and then the fun begins. The day of the interview is a fun and exciting time. KC Darlin, really gets into the interview where she asks 10 rapid fire questions on topics that you would never normally ask during an interview, its a fun time of the interview.
After the interview, we go through the editing process and in the meantime get it out on social media to let everyone know who will be on the show.
We have had so many compliments on the The Perfect Note and how the interview went.
We don’t end there. The artist gets listed permanently in this magazine so that you can find them, listen to and download their music.
