A Touch Of Class Male Fashion Revue
The Hillsborough County Chapter of the Charmettes, Inc., hosted an all-male fash- ion revue for its annual schol- arship fundraiser on March 29th at the Embassy Suites in Brandon. The Sunday evening affair was well attended.
The men strutted through the ballroom in style showing off their many different fash- ionable clothing. These gents ranged from the very young to the more mature dapper eld- ers.
Charmette Joyce Austin was the Mistress of Cere- mony, highlighting the fash- ions as each participate entered the ballroom. She elo- quently described the details of each outfit worn by the men. Charmette Carolyn Banks did a terrific job as- sisting the men behind the scenes.
In pursuit of perfection there were multiple scenes such as: “Boys Will Be Boys,” “Hanging Out With The Boys,” “Spring Dance,” “Whole Lot A Shakin,” “For- mal,” “Black Men In Black,”
Personalizing each scene with unruffled “GQ” attitudes were: Johnny Banks, Joshua Bennet, Herman Bronson, Reginald Fergu- son, Jr., Cayden Guerra, Lonnie Jackson, Abdul Knight, Philip Knight, Otis Kitchen, II, Chad Matthews, Earl Newsome, Eli Hu O’Hara, James Solomon, Jr., Leroy Staley, Maurice Steele, Charles Stevens, Lawrence Tucker and George Wallace.
“A Holy Affair,” “Holding On To Your Faith,” “A Family Af- fair,” and “A Man’s World... Really.”
The proceeds from the event will provide educational assis- tance to eligible students in honor of the late Charmette Fifi Glymph.
Congratulations to the com- mittee members for reaching another fundraising mile- stone. Charmettes, Ann Carey, Chair, Jacqueline Wilds, Co-Chair, LeJoan Franklin, Betty Kinsey, Janice London, Evelyn Keeton, Thomasine
Banks, Michelle Jones, Arethia Smith, Edna Mc- Cants, Carolyn Banks and Cheryl Baker did a wonder- ful job planning and coordi- nating this event.
