Tris Pharma Inc. has volun- tarily recalled three lots of in- fants’ liquid ibuprofen sold at Walmart, CVS, and Family Dol- lar, because they may contain too much ibuprofen.
The recalled products, which are pain relievers and fever re- ducers, were packaged and sold as follows:
At Walmart stores as Equate: Infants' Ibuprofen Con- centrated Oral Suspension, USP (NSAID), 50 mg per 1.25 mL, 0.5 oz. bottle. Expiration 02/19, lot 00717009A; expiration 04/19, lot 00717015A; expira- tion 08/19, lot 00717024A. NDC (national drug code) 49035-125- 23.
At CVS Pharmacies as CVS Health: Infants' Ibuprofen Con- centrated Oral Suspension, USP (NSAID), 50 mg per 1.25 mL, 0.5 oz. bottle. Expiration 08/19, lot 00717024A. NDC 59779- 925-23.

Infants run a small risk of permanent kidney damage from the higher concentration of ibuprofen. Other possible side effects are nausea, vomiting, upper abdominal pain and, less commonly, diarrhea. Ringing in the ears (tinnitus), headache, and intestinal bleeding are also possible. But so far, Tri Pharma has not received any reports of
infants who have had problems because of the drug.
You can call Tri Pharma with questions at 732-940-0358, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET, or email your ques- tions to micc_tris@vigilarebp.com. If you have a recalled product, stop using it. Stores typically re- fund recalled products.
If your child has had any problems that could be related to this product, contact your doctor. You can also report these problems to the FDA’s MedWatch Adverse Event Re- porting program online at www.fda.gov/medwatch/re- port.htm. Read on to see how bak- ing soda, aka sodium bicar- bonate, helps keep your body healthy and clean.
Green Teeth Cleaner
Baking soda works great to physically remove plaque, the sticky film of bacteria in your mouth. Over time, a plaque buildup hardens into tartar and can lead to gum disease. Dip a wet toothbrush into the powder and brush as usual. It doesn’t have the fluoride you need to protect against tooth decay and cavities. Many public water supplies have added fluoride. Even so, brush with regu- lar toothpaste as well to be safe.
Body Deodorant
Most things
that stink have
acidic or basic
odor mole-
cules. Baking
soda brings
them to a more
neutral, odor-
free state. No
wonder sewage plants and feed- lots use the stuff. It also works on your body odor. Dust a little under your arms in the morning. If you don’t care for the powdery residue on your clothes, use stick deodorants that have baking soda. Look for ones that list sodium bicarbonate as a main in- gredient.
Baking soda is mildly abra- sive. Use it as a gentle face cleanser. Wash and rinse first with soap and water. Then, make a paste of three parts baking soda to one part water. Rub it in care- fully in circles for a deep clean. Rinse with water.
Inexpensive Mouthwash
That garlic
aioli pasta was
delish. But now
your breath is
keeping even
your dog away.
Swish a tea-
spoon of baking soda in a half glass of water and rinse your mouth. It doesn’t merely mask the smell with a minty scent like most mouthwashes do. Baking soda actually banishes the odor altogether.
