 FELECIA WILLIAMS 12/9/2004 — 5/16/2014
BY IRIS B. HOLTON Sentinel City Editor
Five years ago, on May 16, 2014, a 9-year-old girl disap- peared from a Temple Ter- race apartment and was reported missing by her mother.
Her body was found by fishermen the next day.
Following an investigation into the murder, police ar- rested Granville Ritchie and charged him with first- degree murder. After 5 years, Ritchie is scheduled to go on trial on July 8th.
On May 16th, Ms. Felecia Demerson allowed her daughter, Felecia Williams, to accompany Ms. Eboni Wiley, a family friend. Within hours of her going with Ms. Wiley, the child disappeared.
Initially, Ms. Wiley told police Felecia disappeared while she was taking a shower. During a second in- terview, Ms. Wiley told po- lice she had left Felecia with 35-year-old Granville Ashanti Ritchie for about 35 minutes while she went to buy marijuana.
Ms. Wiley also told po- lice that Ritchie called her and allegedly said he had

given the child some money to buy candy from a CVS. Ms. Wiley reportedly drove to the store, but returned to the apartment upon Ritchie’s request.
She told police they con- sumed alcohol, they had sex, and Ritchie took her home. Several hours passed before a family member of the child was contacted. The child’s family then notified police and filed a missing person’s report.
The following day, a body was discovered around 3:20 p.m., in the water near Clear- water. The Pinellas County Medical Examiner confirmed that it was the body of Fele- cia Williams.
Temple Terrace Police ar- rested Ms. Wiley the same day the child’s body was dis- covered. She was later re- leased on bond.
On May 21st, St. Peters- burg Police arrested Ritchie on unrelated charges. He was transferred to Hillsborough County, where he was held without bond on one count of having sex with a minor.
On August 15, 2014, the Temple Terrace Police De- partment charged Ritchie with the first-degree murder of Felecia Williams.
