The BET Awards took a hit this year as viewership and ratings were down double digits for the annual show, ac- cording to a report.
The show aired live, June 25th, and was hosted by co- median Leslie Jones. The show saw a 3.47 rating among adults 18-49 over the nine Vi- acom nets and 5.8 million viewers for its debut airing on Sunday. Reportedly, that’s down 19% in the key demo and 19% in viewers from what the record breaking 2016 BET Awards drew on June 26,
2016 when it was shown on a total of 12 Viacom outlets.

'Baby Driver' Jon Hamm And Jamie Foxx Steal The Show; Car Thriller

The Bey-Z Twins Are Home
The cast of Baby Driver
A number of breathless blurbs have been heralding the arrival of Edgar Wright's "Baby Driver," one calling it "The most stylish film of the year!" But what ex- actly does that mean?
Well, in Wright's movies - including "Shaun of the Dead" and "Scott Pilgrim Vs. the World" - "style" usually means tricky camerawork, smart uses of music and a strong, sarcastic sensibility that often quotes pop cult cliches.
But is style - just style - enough?
It usually is for Wright's solid core of fans and I sup- pose it is for much of "Baby Driver," a rock-n-roll heist movie that starts way above the speed limit and never slows down.
The main gimmick - and there are several - is that Baby is the name of a fresh- faced car nut who drives get- away for a small gang of thieves. He has a bad case of
tinnitus, a condition he allevi- ates by listening constantly to music.
Fast-tempo music that we hear too, pounding along on the soundtrack, usually as Baby's peeling away from some bank, half-a-dozen cop cars in fierce pursuit.
Those scenes are standouts, with Wright giving us ter- rific, old-fashioned, tire- squealing, 360-degree action, featuring stunts that are just this inch short of impossible, all done on city streets or busy highways.
Great, too, are some gentler scenes in which Baby - played by the too-dewy Ansel Elgort - bops along to the music in his head, impro- vising steps and lip-synching furiously, like the scene in "(500) Days of Summer" when Joseph Gordon- Levitt spontaneously dances down the street.
All of this is great fun. This car thriller is a must-see. Crit- ics scored this film at 94%.
JAY-Z drops trailer for new album.
A new trailer promoting JAY-Z’s upcoming 4:44 album surfaced on Tidal Tues- day evening (June 27), and it has quite the political mes- sage.
The black and white teaser, entitled “Kill JAY-Z” depicts a young African-American boy frantically running in a city neighborhood as police sirens sound off in the near distance. As the camera pans out, the boys shirt becomes more visi- ble with the phrase, “STAY BLACK” printed in bold letters across the chest.
While the 30-second clip doesn’t provide any other de- tails concerning the album, it does suggest the tracklist may have content that discusses the Black Lives Matter move- ment and the number of Black bodies that have been shot by police.
According to multiple sources, Beyoncé Knowles-Carter and her newborn twins have checked out of the hospital and settled into their luxurious-mansion rental in Malibu, Calif.
E!, the Daily Mail and Peo- ple all report that Beyoncé, Jay-Z and Blue Ivy are
chilling in their 10-bedroom, 14-bath villa that rents for $400,000 a month.
Beyoncé gave birth to pre- mature twins two weeks ago on June 12. The site also re- ported that the twins were having a hard time, dealing with jaundice and were “under the lights.”
The Carter twins are now home .
Remy Ma Wins BET’s ‘Best Female Rapper’ Award; Disses Fly
After already telling the world that she wouldn’t be in attendance at the 2017 BET Awards, Nicki Minaj suf- fered a shocking loss.
Nicki no doubt caught word that the trophy for “Best Female Hip-Hop Artist” that she’s taken home 7 years in a row would be going to her nemesis, Remy Ma.
Remy Ma spit some bars presumably aimed at Nicki Minaj when she picked up the Award, and judging by Nicki’s response, Remy got just what she wanted ... a re- sponse.
Nicki performed Monday night (June 26) at the NBA awards, and very pointedly performed three songs back to back — all of which feature some kind of diss toward Remy.
She was joined onstage by 2
Remy Ma won the BET Award last Sunday. Nicki Minaj’s fans were not happy.
Chainz for “Realize” before she moved on to “No Frauds,” her original Remy clapback. She finished with her combat- ive verse from Katy Perry’s song “Swish Swish,” a track infamous for its pretty un- avoidable digs at Taylor Swift.
