She was born May 7, 1918 in Gadsden County in Quincy, Florida. Annie Jane at- tended the public schools of Gadsden County in Quincy, Florida in the Mount Pilgrim Community, where she was reared.
As she grew up to seek em- ployment, she worked as a housekeeper for private families for many years. In that church, she was taught Christian values and morals. Immediately she became a Christian worker and teacher by teaching her younger sisters and brothers the Christian way of life.
“Sister” as we called her was an amazing “people person” who always exhibited great concern
for others. She was blessed by God with many talents, which she freely shared.
She was given and reared up a daughter from birth and three grandchildren. She was joined in holy matrimony to the late, Willie James Baker. To this union, one child was reared. The family moved to Tampa, Florida. She was employed with the public school system as a lunchroom as- sistant and grandparent assis- tant. Annie Jane was a faithful member of Greater Mt. Moriah P. B. Church for more than 50 years.
After a blessed and beautiful life, she boldly answered her “Vic- tory” call from her Creator to transition to her eternal heavenly home. Now we celebrate her life, let us remember how she touched our lives.
She leaves a legacy as a sound and faithful servant of God, teacher and mentor who im- parted a lifelong impact on the lives of all that she touched. We loved her unconditionally, she will be truly missed. She is now gone to receive her crown and unite with loved ones who have preceded her in death.
