Groups Hosting Juneteenth Events Unite To Close Out Month

Entertainment was also diverse during this year's celebration to in- clude Reggae, Jazz, and a Gospel Ex- travaganza held at Beulah Baptist Church. The Revealing Truth Youth Band came out during the Street Fes- tival.
Eddie Adams coordinated the luncheon hosted by 100 Black Men of Tampa Bay on Friday, June 16th.
"We had an extremely successful celebration this year without any in- fractions or misconduct of any kind. This year's celebration is an idea of
what unity in the community is all about! I'm looking forward towards next year!," said Rev. Willie Dixon, who with the help of William Sanders and others, coordinated the East Tampa events.
"I had a great time with the plan- ning," said Pastor P. Tucker-John- son, who along with Pastor C. Sutton, Pastor C. Battle, Ms. Norma Pierce and others, in con- junction with the West Tampa Al- liance, helped coordinate the West Tampa events.
West Tampa and East Tampa came together last Saturday (June 24th) for the celebratory conclusion of June- teenth. This year's celebration de- served bragging rights being given to the organizers and sponsors of both committees, who through their coordi- nated efforts, managed to educate the community about the origin of June- teenth in a unique and diverse manner.
Jesse Quinn, who is a member of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., co-
ordinated and took charge of contact- ing the Pan- Hellenic Council to come educate on the true meaning of Greek life. A yard show was part of the fes- tivities in West Tampa during the Street Festival.
A panel of a diverse group of peo- ple was united for a community discus- sion about cultural and community issues. That discussion took place at the College Hill Conference Center on Saturday.
These community residents served on the panel: Daniel X, Keylonnie Miller, James C. Cole, Imari Muhammad, Jabari Paul. Tallahassee guest and lobbyist.
