Progress Village residents, now is the time to get rid of your old furniture, appli- ances, clean up your yards and storage sheds. Bring your unwanted and discarded items to the park. There will be dumpsters to discard everything that does not go into your regular weekly trash.
Note: Seniors 65 years and older, you may contact
Linda Washington at 813- 741-3604 for curbside pick- up. You will need to have items to the curb by 8am on Saturday. If you are not on the list your items may not be picked up.
Acceptable items at dumpsters: Old refrigerators, ovens, water heaters, steel and other metals, old furni- ture (such as couches, chairs, tables and mattresses), con- struction debris (such as con- crete, bricks, glass and roofing materials), tires, tele- visions, microwaves comput- ers and radios. Note: You will be asked to show ID for valid residence in Progress Village.
Volunteers are needed to help with clean up and com- munity distribution. Volun- teers are asked to check in at the park at 7:30 a. m. Free Food and Entertainment.
This clean-up project is made possible by Hillsbor- ough County Board of County Commissioners, Office of Neighborhood Relations, Public Utilities Department and Hillsborough Commu- nity College MLK Day of Service Grant.

    The Ali Akbar Positive Change Foundation Hosts Another New Year’s Day Event

The Ali Akbar Positive Change Foundation cele- brated its 18th consecutive New Year’s Day of feeding and clothing the community’s less fortunate brothers and sisters. They enjoyed hot meals, music by DJ Mosley, with old school music and every- one received new winter socks.
The show of support this year by supporters and mem- bers of the community was overwhelming.
The year 2017, was a sad year for the organization with the loss of 3 faithful founda- tion members – Lonnie Brown, Holly Ayala and

The last Gunslinger, Roland Deschain, has been locked in an eternal battle with Walter O’Dim, also known as the ‘Man in Black,’ determined to prevent him from toppling the Dark Tower, which holds the universe together. With the fate of the worlds at stake, good and evil will collide in the ultimate battle as only Roland can defend the Tower from the ‘Man in Black.’ This Film is rated PG-13.

BLING: Business Leaders Igniting A New Generation

The library will host BLING! A Youth Entrepreneur Explosion. This event is a youth entrepreneur summit and community expo. Come join us as ten young entrepreneurs go above and beyond to in- spire, motivate and bring hope to the youth of the community. Additionally the event will include entertainment, black history and culture and a video presentation. Prizes and refreshments will be provided. Presented in partnership with the Tampa Bay Black Heritage Festival.
