Simone Biles says she was abused and sexually assaulted too by national team’s doctor for four Olympic Games, Larry Nassar.
Houston Players Suspended Two Games For Charging Into Clippers’ Locker Room
Trevor Ariza (#1) of the Hous- ton Rockets is restrained by an assistant coach.
Houston Rockets forward Trevor Ariza and guard Ger- ald Green have each been sus- pended two games without pay for entering the Los Angeles Clippers’ locker room to con- front a player from the oppos- ing team, it was announced today by Kiki VanDeWeghe, Executive Vice President, Bas- ketball Operations.
The incident occurred fol- lowing the Clippers’ 113-102 win over the Rockets on Jan. 15 at Staples Center. During the league’s investigation, which in- cluded more than 20 interviews with executives, staff, coaches and players from both teams, as well as arena personnel, it was determined that Ariza and Green entered the Clippers’ locker room immediately after the game and engaged in a hos- tile, verbal altercation with sev- eral Clippers players. The league’s investigation further concluded that Rockets players, James Harden and Chris Paul, followed Ariza and Green into the corridor out- side the locker room in an effort to defuse the situation, and ac- cordingly, discipline is not war- ranted.
Charles Barkley: Cavaliers Will Not Make NBA Finals
Olympic gymnast Simone Biles is saying “Me Too.” The 20-year-old athlete is accusing former USA Gymnastics team doctor Larry Nassar of sex- ually abusing and assaulting her.
In a text post shared to her Twitter page, the gold medal- ist wrote, “I, too, am one of the many survivors that was sexu- ally abused by Larry Nassar. There are many reasons that I have been reluctant to share my story, but I know now that it is not my fault.
Nassar, who was the na- tional team’s doctor for four Olympic Games, has been ac-
cused by several gymnasts of sexual abuse and assault in- cluding Biles’ teammates Gabby Douglas and Aly Raisman. 2012’s “Fierce Five” team member McKayla Maroney is reportedly suing USA Gymnastics for extorting her in an attempt to conceal her claims of Nassar’s abuse.
He plead guilty in Novem- ber to seven counts of criminal conduct, and he admitted to using his position to sexually assault young girls as young as 13 years old. His sentencing was on Tuesday (Jan. 16) for 10 state counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct.
Looks like LeBron James will have his latest rea- son to be annoyed with Charles Barkley.
Speaking on TNT prior to Monday’s Golden State War- riors-Cleveland Cavaliers game, Barkley predicted that the Cavaliers would not reach the NBA Finals this year:
The Cavs and Warriors have met in the Finals for three straight seasons, with the Warriors winning the first and third series between the teams.
This time around, it cer- tainly seems less likely that the Cavs make it back to the Finals compared to past seasons.
Cleveland experienced a major change in the offseason when Kyrie Irving was traded to Boston for Isaiah Thomas. Thomas is coming back from a hip injury, and it’s hard to know how well the

team will play with him and whether he’ll regain full strength. Meanwhile, Boston has looked strong since the start of the season and seems to be legitimate competition for the Cavs.
Even if the Cavs do make it back, they don’t seem to be as strong as they were in past years.
Still, these comments will do nothing to mend the rela- tionship between Chuck and LeBron, which has been strained over notable past in- cidents.

Rumors have hounded the pair since they were pho- tographed having dinner to- gether over the weekend in Scottsdale, Ariz.

Briauna Jones (Char- lotte, N.C.) has been selected as a replacement athlete and will travel to Pyeongchang. Jones can substitute for competing athletes during training runs, and is eligible to compete in the event of an injury or illness.
Paul Pierce
apparently has won his staring contest with Isa- iah Thomas.
The former
Celtics guard
tweeted on Tues-
day that he no THOMAS longer wants Boston to play a video tribute of him when his new team, the Cleveland Cava- liers, visit TD Garden on Feb. 11.
There was a controversy that arose earlier this month over what would happen on Feb. 11. Pierce is set to have his jersey retired by the franchise that day, and he said he didn’t want anything else (like a Thomas tribute) taking atten- tion away from his day.
Thomas had an opportu- nity to receive a tribute from the Celtics on Jan. 3, but he de- clined because he was not play- ing and he wanted his family to be able to attend to enjoy it.
