Police Investigate
Fatal Stabbing
Of Tampa Man
Police are investigating
an altercation that resulted
in a fatal stabbing. The inci-
dent took place on January 12th.
According to the Tampa Police Department, officers responded to a person with injuries at the corner of N. 22nd Street and E. Crenshaw Street, at approximately 10:40 p.m., last Friday.
When officers arrived at the scene, they discovered that two people appeared to be involved in an altercation. One of the individuals, iden- tified as 35-year-old Samaryon Attwell was se- riously injured.
The officers immediately began administering CPR to Attwell, who suffered stab wounds to the upper body. Tampa Fire Rescue re- sponded to the scene, but was unsuccessful in resusci- tating Attwell. He was pro- nounced dead at the scene.

Mills, 22, of Tampa. Ms. Mills was also injured dur- ing the altercation. She was transported to a local hospi- tal with non-life threatening injuries, police said.
Investigators said that based on the preliminary in- vestigation, the case appears to be an isolated incident in- volving two people who were known to each other. The de- tectives are conferring with the Hillsb0rough County State Attorney’s Office to de- termine if any charges will be filed.
Police Investigate East Tampa Shooting
The Tampa Police Depart- ment is currently investigat- ing a shooting that took Wednesday night around 11 p.m. The victim was treated at a local hospital.
According to police, offi- cers responded to the 3600 block of E. Deleuil Avenue, in reference to shots being fired. The officers knocked on the door of 37-year-old Kenneth Young and realized Young had been shot.
Young was alert and speaking at the time. He told officers that an unknown Black man with a scruffy beard came up to him and pulled a gun on him. Young told police that he and the man wrestled over the gun and he was shot before getting the gun from the man.
Young told police that after he was shot, he ran into

the house. However, he never called 9-1-1, The suspect fled the scene. He was the only person at the house when po- lice arrived.
Young was transported to St. Joseph’s Hospital, where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Police said this does not appear to be a random shoot- ing and the investigation is continuing.

Tampa Man Dead
At School
Detectives with the Hills- borough County Sheriff’s Of- fice are currently investigating a fatal shooting. The incident took place early Wednesday in the Grant Park area.
According to police, deputies responded to 3703 Caraway Street, in reference to a shooting. When they ar- rived, they discovered 22- year-old Elijah Moore had been struck by gunfire. Moore died at the scene.
Detectives have not re- leased any additional infor- mation pertaining to the

shooting and the investiga- tion is continuing.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office arrested a stu- dent and charged him with having a gun on campus. The incident took place Tuesday at Plant City High School.
According to police, shortly after 3 p.m., Tuesday, Lamaryea Glover was ar- rested after school officials discovered the loaded .40 cal- iber handgun and drug para- phernalia in his backpack.
Police said Glover was fighting another student after school. The School Resource Deputy and school personnel arrived and attempted to break up the fight. Glover al- legedly tried to run away, but was caught.
After school officials con- ducted a search of his back- pack, they discovered the Glock Model 22 with 11 bul- lets. The backpack also con- tained scales, police said.
Glover was arrested and charged with possession of a firearm on school property, which is a felony, and posses- sion of equipment.

Pleads Guilty To
Aggravated ID Theft
A 41-year-old made pleaded guilty to aggravated identity theft last week. He previously pleaded guilty in a separate case to illegally re- entering the United States. He is slated to be sentenced on January 23, 2018.
Jose Mejia-Rangel, of Dade City, is facing a maxi- mum penalty of 10 years in prison on the illegal entry charge, and a mandatory, consecutive two-year prison sentence for aggravated iden- tity theft.
According to court docu- ments, Mejia-Rangel, who has been previously deported from the United States at least four times, used a Cali- fornia man’s name, birth cer- tificate, and Social Security number to apply for a State of Florida identification card

Upon his arrest for do-
mestic battery in July 2017, Mejia-Rangel presented himself under the California man’s identity. He also ad- mitted to using the identity to avoid detection from federal immigration authorities.
A 23-year-old man is re- covering after being shot Monday evening. The shoot- ing took place at the Post Rocky Point Apartments, 7041 Bonaventure Drive.
According to Tampa Po- lice, Justin A. Sierra, and Saraiya J. Garcia, 18, both of Land O’Lakes, were sitting in Sierra’s car. They had re- portedly been engaged in an ongoing disagreement with someone they knew.
The unidentified suspects reportedly shot Sierra. Sierra then fled to the park- ing lot of the Bahama Breeze Restaurant, 3045 N. Rocky Point Drive, with the suspects following.
While Sierra was inside the restaurant, the suspects took his vehicle from Ms. Garcia at gunpoint and fled the scene. When police ar- rived, they determined the ve- hicle the suspects left behind had been reported stolen.
Sierra was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The in- vestigation is continuing.
