Driver In Fatal Hit And Run Crash Surrenders
Father, Girlfriend Charged In Brutal Murder Of Child
    The driver involved in a deadly hit and run accident Sunday has surrendered to po- lice. He is currently being held at the Hillsborough County Jail under a $15,000 bond.
Roger Herelle, 33, of Tampa, turned himself in at the Tampa Police Depart- ment’s District III Office Wednesday morning. Herelle was charged with leaving the scene of an accident involving death.
According to police, Ms. Sally Ann McClellan Webb, 60, of Tampa, was struck by a vehicle at the inter- section of N. Nebraska Avenue and E. Linebaugh Avenue, Sunday night. Police said they believe the vehicle was either racing or speeding at the time of the collision. Ms. Webb died at the scene.

After the crash, the vehicle continued in a northbound di- rection on North Nebraska, police said.
Tampa Police appealed to the public for help in identify- ing the driver. Crime Stoppers of Tampa Bay had also offered a reward of up to $3,000 for information leading to the identification and arrest of the suspect involved in the case.
Two people have been charged with death of a child. Police were called after the child became unresponsive.
According to the Lakeland Police Department, officers responded to 929 N. Gilmore Avenue, Apt. 10, around 10:56 p.m., on June 12th. Honesty Curry died at 11:47 a.m., on June 14th.
When officers arrived, they began life-saving meas- ures on the 6-year-old little girl. When the Polk County Fire Rescue and Lakeland Fire Rescue arrived, they con- tinued their efforts.
Honesty was transported to Lakeland Regional Health, but as a result of her injuries, was flown to Tampa General Hospital. Hospital staff deter- mined she had severe skull damage, markings resem- bling adult bite marks on her thigh, lacerations on her throat, and bruises all over her body. She was not ex- pected to survive the injuries, police said.
When police arrived at the apartment, Larry Lewis Golden, Jr., 26, who is the child’s biological father, was in the apartment, along with his girlfriend, 21-year-old Breonna B. Wren, and 3 other children, ages 1, 3, and

4 years of age.
During the initial inter-
view, Golden and Wren said the child’s injuries were the result of two falls that nei- ther witnessed. They told po- lice she fell in the hall and hit her head on an extended closet door. The second fall reportedly took place about an hour later, when she al- legedly fell and hit her fore- head against the wall while being made to stand in the corner.
Golden told police he went into the bedroom to wake the child, but she was unresponsive and he called for medical assistant.

injuries the child sustained, Wren admitted to hitting the child on the butt with a leather belt while she was standing in the corner. She also told police she believed Golden struck the child with an unknown object while she was in the kitchen, knocking her to the floor.
Both Golden and Wren were taken into custody and charged with first-degree murder and aggravated manslaughter of a child. They were transported to the Polk County Jail.
The Department of Chil- dren and Families were noti- fied and took the other three children into state custody.
    Woman Critical After Shooting; Ex-Boyfriend Jailed
Police have arrested a 52- year-old man and charged him with critically injuring his for- mer girlfriend. The shooting took place last week.
According to the St. Peters- burg Police Department, offi- cers responded to 920 20th Street, South in reference to a shooting. When they arrived, they discovered Ms. Philan- dria Nero, 52, had been shot while at her home. She was transported to Bayfront Health Hospital in critical, but stable condition.
The preliminary informa- tion developed revealed that it was a domestic-related inci- dent.

Police later arrested James Brown, Jr., of St. Petersburg, and charged him with at- tempted first-degree murder and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
