FBI Investigating Judge Who Sentenced Meek Mill To Prison; Hundreds Protest Sentence
The FBI is reportedly in- vestigating the judge who sentenced Meek Mill to prison for two to four years over parole violations.
The New York Post re- ported that Judge Genece Brinkley is being investi- gated for a possible “extor- tionate demand” as well as for a music mogul that she allegedly asked Mill to sign with.
The report claims that un- dercover agents attached to Mill’s case since April 2016
were aware of Philadelphia music mogul Charlie Mack suggesting to Mill that he could help with the case be- cause he knew the judge.
Mack has since denied that claim.
Meek’s lawyer has also claimed that the judge asked him to remix a Boyz II Men song with a shout-out to her in it, but he refused. Mill’s lawyer has since claimed that the overly harsh sen- tence is a result of that rejec- tion.
Hundreds Show Up For Protest
Hundreds of people gath- ered in Philadelphia Monday night to protest rapper Meek Mill's imprisonment on probation violations.
Celebrities and athletes spoke at the rally Monday evening near City Hall, in- cluding former 76er Julius Erving, Eagles player Mal- colm Jenkins and rapper Rick Ross. Erving called Mill's sentence "excessive" and "cruel."
Cardi B, Migos, and Playboi Carti are on the list.
