Colin Kaeper- nick is a hero in the Black community and will go down in his- tory.
His path of resist- ance has not gone un- noticed. So much so that he's this year's GQ Citizen of The Year.
As GQ states, "kneeling during the national anthem changed everything. It
cost him his job. It
also transformed Colin Kaepernick into a lightning rod and a powerful symbol of activism and re- sistance."

on football, and was offered a spot at the University of Ne- vada.
He was also drafted by the Chicago Cubs in 2009, but turned down the MLB offer to continue playing football. He signed with the San Fran- cisco 49ers in 2011, and played as a backup quarter- back until 2012, when he began to play more regularly.
He excelled throughout the 2012 season, and ulti- mately led the 49ers to the Super Bowl. In June 2014, Colin and the 49ers reached a six year extension deal.
The deal could have al- lowed Colin to earn as much as $126 million from the deal and $61 million could have been guaranteed.
The extension also came with a $12.3 million signing bonus.
After Kaepernick dis- covered that the 49ers were planning to cut him, in March 2017 he opted out of his contract in order to be- come a free agent.
When it was all said and done, Colin earned just under $40 million from his $126 million contract.

NORFOLK, Va.—North Carolina A&T State’s win over Savannah State on Saturday clinched at least a share of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Confer- ence (MEAC) football champi- onship for the third time in four seasons.
Due to North Carolina Cen- tral’s loss last Saturday to Bethune-Cookman, only North Carolina A&T State (7-0 MEAC) and Howard (6-1) have an opportunity to win a share of the MEAC title. The Aggies will host North Car- olina Central live on ESPN3 this Saturday, while Howard
led by Cam Newton’s younger brother, Caylin Newton will travel to Hamp- ton.
At stake for the Aggies on Saturday is an outright MEAC championship, which would mark their first since 2003.
An Aggies win would ac- complish this feat regardless of Howard’s outcome against Hampton.
A NCAT loss, coupled with a Howard win, would allow the Bison to share the MEAC championship with the Aggies.
It would be the Bison’s first title since 1993.
