Giants Defensive End Suffers Burns From Fireworks Accident
Former University of South Florida defensive end, and two-time New York Giant Super Bowl winner, Jason Pierre-Paul, injured his hand in a fireworks accident this weekend.
Authorities in South Florida said Paul, 26, was ex- amined by doctors after he was hospitalized for his in- juries. One source said Paul suffered burns on his palm and the tips of three fingers. One finger is being tested for nerve damage, and doctors said there will be no perma-
nent damage.
It was reported that Paul
had been transporting a van- load of fireworks when the accident occurred.
Paul’s injury could affect his future with the Giants after he had one of his best seasons as a pro in 2014. The team put the franchise tag on Paul, but he hasn’t signed the $14.8 million tender and is not really under contract right now.
Last season, Paul started all 16 games, had 12.5 sacks and forced three fumbles.

‘Dynamite’ Is Still Dynamite

World champion professional boxers have come to Tampa to train and some even have relatives here. But, Tampa has never produced a home-town world champion boxer in any weight class. Cornelius Dennard wants to change that.
Dennard, known as “Dynamite,” in the ring, is only 14-years-old, but he’s already caught the eye of Olympic and AAU coaches.
“I guarantee my nephew isn’t going to stop until he’s achieved his goal of being a world champion, said Combo Broadnax.
“He understands that at this point in his life, he first has to be a great student before any of his dreams of being a professional cham- pion come true.”
Dynamite recently competed in the sun- shine State Games, a 2-day event held in Ft. Lauderdale, where he scored his first knockout win.
“He was so impressive, and winning by knockout means he’s getting stronger and learning how to sit down on his punches in- stead of just boxing all the time,” said Combo.
“Now that the summer is here, his schedule will change dramatically, and he’ll be spending even more time in the gym. We’re happy with his trainer, Raymond Ortiz, and everyone who has shown great patience with Dyna-
