Citizens Honored During TOBA’s 36th Annual Breakfast
The Tampa Organization of Black Affairs (TOBA) presented awards to local citizens for their service to the Tampa Bay community when their an- nual breakfast was held during the Mar- tin Luther King, Jr. Holiday weekend.
The 2016 TOBA Jetie B. Wilds, Jr. Youth Leadership and Community Service Scholarship recipients are:
Alexis Sealey, Blake High School; Donte Glover, Blake High School; Tierra Bell, Middleton High School and Demonte Wallace, Middleton High School.
The 2016 TOBA Unsung Hero Award was presented to David Bow- ers. He is known for helping others by giving his time, talents and money to
supp0rt those who have the greatest need. He was also very instrumental in helping to re-establish Blake High School.
The 2016 TOBA Ike Tribble Civic Leadership Award was presented to Harold Jackson, who is described as one who “exemplifies the ideals that was the life and is the legacy of Dr.
Tribble, who imparted his knowledge working with coalitions to motivate, en- courage and support the growth and de- velopment of youth through education.”
The TOBA MLK Leadership Award
