3-Year-Old Louisiana Boy
A South Carolina prisoner is scheduled to be the first man executed in the state in more than a decade and has decided to die by firing squad rather than the electric chair.
According to ABC News, court documents reveal that 57-year-old Richard Bernard Moore is also the first state prisoner to make a choice about how he will be ex- ecuted. The decision comes after a law went into effect last year making electrocution the default while also giving in- mates the option to face three prison workers with rifles if they so choose.
Moore was convicted and placed on death row after

being convicted of the 1999 killing of James Mahoney, a convenience store clerk, in Spartanburg. If executed as
scheduled on April 29, he would be the first person put to death in South Carolina since 2011 and the fourth person in the country to die by firing squad in nearly 50 years.
South Carolina is one of eight states to still use the elec- tric chair and one of just four that employs a firing squad.
“I believe this election is forcing me to choose between two unconstitutional methods of execution, and I do not in- tend to waive any challenges to electrocution or firing squad by making an election,” Moore said in the statement, while also noting that he only chose a firing squad because he was forced to make a decision.

SHAQUILLE O'NEAL
NBA Hall of Famer Shaquille O’Neal paid the funeral costs for a 3-year-old killed by a stray bullet earlier this week in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
According to WBRZ, the family of slain toddler Devin Page Jr., said Shaq reached out with the assistance of local activists and offered to pay for Page’s funeral.
Shaq, who attended Louisiana State University (LSU), partnered with Greater Beulah Baptist Church to pro- vide the funeral service.
Last Tuesday night (April 12), Page was hit by a stray bullet while asleep in his bed.

Police say they believe a gun- fight occurred between two people in front of Page’s home and one of the bullets went through his bedroom window.
“Until it happens to you, until the gun is shot at your house, you know, until the bullets come through your window, you don’t get involved. You have nothing to say,” his grandmother, Cathy Toliver, said to KSLA. “But you don’t want this feeling that we have right now. You don’t want the feeling of knowing that you’ll never see your grandbaby or your son again. You don’t want that feeling.”

Serena Williams Is Open To A 'King Richard' Sequel
Serena Williams has got a story to tell — well, several. In a new interview with Insider, the tennis champ said she'd love to see more of her family's story make it to the big screen. King Richard, which told the story of how Richard Williams overcame several challenges to help his daugh- ters, Serena and Venus Williams, take over the ten- nis world, was a critical dar- ling, garnering several Academy Award nominations, including Best Actor, Best Sup- porting Actress, and Best Pic- ture. But according to Williams, that was only the

beginning.
"King Richard had a perfect
ending with Venus on the ten- nis court," Williams told In-
sider. "Venus goes in her di- rection, and I go in my direc- tion. It's two completely different stories."
Williams is open to seeing her and her sister's life ex- plored on the screen, but it won't be easy to relive some moments from her past.
“I had a rough journey,” she explained. “I didn't do well and then I did.”
If the Williams sisters did see their individual stories play out, Williams said it'll proba- bly be too much for just one film.
"It's a lot of drama," she ex- plained. "It's a telenovela."
